UNICEF reports that only 28% of girls in Nepal finish grades 11 and 12 (Nepal Education Fact Sheets, 2022).
Determined to improve this statistic, the Bahini Education Project supports girls to stay in school, and graduate grade 12, empowering them to pursue higher education and brighter futures.

Our Programs

Scholarship Program

Supporting girls starting in grade 9 through grade 12

The program fully covers the cost of education for our students, including tuition, fees, and essential course materials like books and supplies. We support our bahinis from grade 9 all the way through high school.

This will ensure that bahinis have the financial support necessary to pursue higher education in Parbat, Nepal, where grades beyond 10 are not free and cost about $500 per year.

5 Students enrolled every year

Our goal is to empower bahinis to graduate from college with the skills needed to enter the workforce and make a positive impact in their communities.

Hygiene Project

Empowering bahinis with health education, menstrual hygiene management, and improved school facilities for a healthier future

Educating Girls on Menstrual Health

We educate girls on nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, menstrual hygiene management, and environmental conservation, equipping them with knowledge to lead healthier, more informed lives.

We work with schools to improve toilet facilities, focusing on privacy, clean water, and hygienic disposal systems for menstrual health.

50 + hours spent

Collaboration with Healthcare Workers

Partnering with local healthcare workers, our volunteers provide girls with accurate information, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

By advocating for these essential improvements, we aim to create a safer and more comfortable environment for girls to thrive.

Skill Building

Helping bahinis build leadership, English speaking, and computer skills led by university educated Nepali women

We offer programs that focus on tutoring, mentorship, and skills development to support the ongoing growth of our bahinis.

We design new skills-building activities and improve existing ones, offering training in areas like computer skills, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, English language proficiency, and health and wellness.

30 + Students enrolled

We prioritize communication and leadership development, bringing in qualified experts and trainers to guide our programs. We hire university-educated Nepali women as trainers, tutors, and mentors to provide the best support for our girls.
