OUR WORK

We are excited to be making a positive difference in the lives of 5 young women in Parbat, Nepal, where we currently work at 3 secondary schools. Over the course of 8 years, we will be supporting these bahinis after school, on the weekends, and during the holidays, helping them to succeed in their secondary school studies and beyond. This is a long-term commitment that we are passionate about, and we can't wait to see the amazing things these young women will accomplish as they grow and develop into leaders in their communities.

why parbat, nepal?

As a new nonprofit organization, we saw an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community of Parbat, Nepal, where Anisha was born and raised. With this personal connection, we were able to establish strong relationships with the schools, students, and families in the area, which helped us to smoothly navigate the challenges of starting a new organization.

Trust and building strong relationships are pillars for the success of this organization. We would not be able to do our work without the cooperation and involvement of the community members. Having these deep roots in Parbat, we are able to establish this organization and build a strong foundation that will one day branch out into other rural areas of Nepal.

We are deeply passionate about the young women we work with and are dedicated to helping them reach their full potential. With these strong connections, we hope to have a positive and lasting impact on their lives, inspiring them to believe in themselves and the endless possibilities that lie ahead.

our projects

menstrual hygiene management

One of our priorities is to help schools improve their toilet facilities, with a focus on ensuring that girls have access to privacy, hygienic disposal systems, and clean water to safely manage menstruation. By working closely with schools and advocating for these improvements, we hope to create a more comfortable and dignified environment for girls to learn and grow.

informal education

In addition to providing skills training, we also believe it is important to educate girls on a variety of topics that will help them lead healthy and fulfilling lives. Some of these topics include nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, menstrual hygiene management, and environmental conservation. To ensure that the girls receive accurate and reliable information, we collaborate with local health care workers to provide education on reproductive health and menstruation. By providing this type of education, we hope to empower girls to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

learning

Over the holidays, we will be offering programs designed to support the development of the bahinis and provide them with ongoing learning opportunities. As they attend secondary school, our primary focus will be on providing tutoring, mentorship, and skills development to help them become proactive, resilient, and socially responsible individuals. We believe that by investing in the education and development of these young women, we can create a brighter future for them and their communities.

skills building

We are committed to helping bahinis develop a wide range of skills and competencies. To achieve this, we design and implement new skills-building activities, or improve upon existing ones, covering a variety of subjects including computer skills, entrepreneurship, English language proficiency, and health and wellness. We also place a strong emphasis on helping bahinis cultivate their communication and leadership skills, and we bring in qualified experts and trainers to lead these efforts. In order to ensure that our bahinis receive the best possible guidance and support, we prioritize the hiring of university-educated Nepali women to serve as trainers, tutors, and mentors.
